One Stroke Forward’s Kelly and Brad Marsh spoke at the 12th Annual Brain Injury Conference on March 23 at the Marriott Courtyard Cincinnati Airport. Kelly shared her own story as a stroke survivor and her ongoing recovery journey. Brad and Kelly discussed an excerpt from the book, Love Stroke, providing insights on symptoms and preventions of stroke, and their ongoing advocacy work for prevention, awareness and recovery support.
Healthcare professionals, brain injury and stroke survivors, their families, military/veterans, educators, and students attended this event with the theme: Obstacles and Avenues to Brain Injury & Stroke. CEUs were available for healthcare professionals.
The purpose of the conference was to address traditional and research-based emerging modalities across the lifespan that have promise in aiding such recovery. There was also an emphasis on symptom management during recuperation. A focus on neuro-rehabilitation that permits the resumption of common life activities, such as socializing with others and driving, was also included.
